A TYPICAL DAY IN ALRESFORD PRE-SCHOOLS EXCELLENT SETTING
Morning Registration begins with the children singing songs. This is an
exciting way to begin Pre-school.
After registration the children have 'free flow play ' in their inside
- outside classroom. Here they build with wooden construction blocks,
garden and grow tomatoes, lettuce, spinach and herbs.
They also learn numbers recognition through board games and number
hunts.
During play the children take it in turns to prepare their own healthy
snack. At the moment they have been baking their own bread.
As well as preparing snacks on a daily basis Alresford Pre-school have
a cooking week once a month. Last term we cooked pasta in garlic sauce,
savory pancakes and toasted spicy wraps.
Throughout their day the children experience a variety of ICT
equipment, which prepares them for the reception class and allows them
to gain valuable ICT skills from an early age.
An important part of the day at Alresford Pre-school is their daily
story time, which includes the learning of letters and sounds. The
children are spilt into two small groups in which they can act out and
recall the story of the day such a 'Room on the Broom 'by Julile
Donaldson.
